Summary

Once I Had a Flower tells the story of a young boy named Dido, who accidentally discovers a creature that sends him traveling between alternate dimensions. Selfish and obsessed with toys and material objects, Dido is unhappy with his modest rural home life. Dido encounters a mysterious flying creature that shows him a vision of all he’s ever wanted: toys and treasure beyond his wildest dreams. He chases the creature down and winds up being transported to another world. This futuristic society known as Moebius, works in perfect harmony and offers its people everything they could ever need. Dido is too distracted by seeking his treasure to realize how good he has it here. He obsessively tracks down the mysterious creature and leaps to yet another dimension. Stuck in the dystopian world known as “the Slimes,” he meets a family who teaches him what is truly important in life.

Originally written as a screenplay for an animated feature, it is now being adapted into a comic book series called Project UBIQ.
