Today my short film, Electromatic, is making its online premier as the Daily Short Pick over at Film Shortage.
The film presents a young man, entering his 30s having given up on music. It weighs his outlook against that of his grandfather, an old man who wants nothing more than to recapture a tiny taste of the carefree joy and freedom he experienced in his youth. The central question of the film is whether the value of performing music comes from success and notoriety, or from the simple act of sharing harmony with a loved one.
The film was inspired by the passing of my grandfather in 2014. It was shot in a single 10 minute take. I wrote about making the film here.
