I was honored to create this video to tell the story of this art project by Nancy Villa-Calvo for its ioby campaign. Barrier Free: A Socially Engaged Art Installation was designed by Yancy for Latino Memphis to explore the impact of barriers on individuals and families. It features photos by Andrea Morales, and metal sculpture by Eric Clausen and Eli Gold. Latino Memphis shares more about the vision of the project:
“Building on the current and controversial idea of the proposed wall along the US – Mexico border, the artist is creating an installation that will create awareness and encourage the viewers to pause, reflect and act.”
The art installation is planned to travel around the country from May 2017 through July 2018. It is currently crowd-funding via ioby, and you can support it there through the close of the campaign on June 30.
