A couple of weeks ago I was asked to participate in the Adobe Creative Jam being held in Memphis. The event was sponsored by Adobe Creative Cloud, Emerge Memphis, and Creative Works.
I competed in a 24 hour competition with categories in illustration, image mashup, and (my category) video, and invited my friend Aaron Baggett to round out my 2-man team. At 5 PM the day before the event, we were emailed the topic: Hustle and Flow. We had the next 24 hours to create a short film using only our mobile devices and Adobe mobile apps. The following evening we showed up at the event and had a few hours to finalize our project on a desktop. Aaron and I want to explore the contrast between the words “hustle” and “flow” and how the conflicting words can actually work together in an unexpected way. We came up with the idea of a couple, representing Hustle and Flow, who have conflicting ideas about how to spend an evening. Watch our entry below.
Big thanks to our actors, Shelby and James, who jumped in on short notice and did an amazing job! Our video ended up being awarded “Best Video” as well as “Audience Choice – Best Video.”
We had a blast working on the project and getting to see all the amazing work the other designers produced under that tight 24 hour time constraint. You can view the entries from all categories on the Adobe Jams Behance page.
Below are a few photos from the process of working on our project.
